We just completed an engineering challenge. Students had to use a limited supply of paper, tape, paper clips, and straws to build a structure that could hold the most weight. The winning tower is pictured below. It was able to hold the weight of 10 dictionaries and 22 other small books! It was incredible!
The Douglas County Farm Bureau came and talked to our class about soil and had several Hands on activities for us!
We started the year off with a spaghetti Tower Challenge! The directions for this activity were simple: Build the tallest free-standing tower possible using the materials provided.
